Re: manchester velodrome - 17/12 « Result #2 on Dec 11, 2009, 7:11pm »
I assumed you had put the wrong date down, thinking you were going to watch. However the come & try sessions are great, as part of the National Clarion for the last two years our track champs have been there. Beforehand they did one of these sessions and its an excellent place to start. You'll get a buzz going round that banking just like the pros. If you enjoy it i would recommend trying Welwyn in the summer, not as smart as Manchester but great fun. Anyway enjot it, and report back on here how it went!

Sportives on the website « Result #7 on Dec 8, 2009, 9:21pm »
I see there is a nice selection of local sportives on the club website. Could easily be tempted to do one or two of those. Anybody else recommend these or any others?

hi all. Instead of bothering Phil about putting an add on the site, id thought id just write a quick note to you all on here. I d just like to remind everyone that i am qualified in sports nutrition, and although some of you will think of me as a gardener, i actually qualified 20 years ago and have been following the health and fitness side of things closely since and i have now updated my qualifications to cover all the latest techniques, testing and research. And now work full time on sports nutrion and massage therapy. Being as you should all be in the middle of your winter training now is an excellent time to be looking at your diet and how you can improve it for the coming race season. i can do small reviews to full nutrtional plans and my servcies are completely confidential, face to face or via email. if you would like to know more my email is sharronsmith123@btinternet.com. ITS CHEAPER THAN CARBON FIBRE AND WILL MAKE ALOT MORE DIFFERENCE TO YOUR SPEED!! sharon

Re: club dinner cake? « Result #21 on Nov 4, 2009, 6:19pm »
I am very confident that all Clarion members on Saturday would welcome a nice cake. Only issue surely is with Lady Annes, so would give them a call explaining that we are not doing our "own catering" as without this we would not be having a cake at all. Even if Steve was to say yes it would still be polite to tell them in advance. See you on Saturday!
club dinner cake? « Result #22 on Nov 4, 2009, 3:47pm »
hi all, i cant get hold of steve so thought id ask you lot. brad seems to think everyone wants him to make a special cake for the club dinner, as he made a nice one for one of the bluebells. im not sure it would be approprate as the catering is done by the hotel, so can someone confirm my thoughts so i can let him down gently? shaz

Just noticed the logs re Spinning. As noted these WILL be at Stanground College on Thursday night's from 5th Nov until the end of Feb. 6:30 - 7:20pm. We have booked the suite for a private session - just Fenland and Pactrac. We charge £3 for adults and £1 for juniors. (Their are other Spinning Classes at Stanground, but these are in with other members of the public and cost £4.) Also we get the best instructor in Wendy Gooding. Hope to see you there.

Right, it is a bit blurry I know and I will get a better image uploaded shortly. But here is the first jacket off the Fenland Clarion leisurewear production line.
As you can see the jacket is black with a silver fleece lining (a nod to our club kit). It has the club logo embroidered on the front.
It features a pres studded storm flap on the front and is water proof and wind proof.
Another neat feature is the 3M reflective strip on the back of the collar. Ideal if you want to be seen on that commute to work.
But this isn't just a cycling jacket, it is too smart for that!
It has a concealed hood and one other neat feature I like is that you can completely reverse it and wear it fleece side out (so for the ladies it will match more than one outfit )
An order form will be coming soon, price will be around £25 (which is a total bargain), sizing is S/M/L with a medium fitting around a 40" chest.

After the success of the Fenland Clarion CC t-shirts and polo's for the Tour de France we have seized the opportunity to help you keep warm off the bike this winter with the new club winter coat.
I will upload a photo tomorrow (fingers crossed) but this heavy weight winter coat will be ideal for the cold season.

Re: spin classes « Result #38 on Oct 8, 2009, 6:38pm »
Last two years Steve Hope of Fenland & Pactrac has organised some spinning classes at Stanground on Thursday. Not sure if he will be arranging them again. I will ask him. Although you may still choose to do your own thing.

Dave Congratulations to you then, didn't realise you were getting married. Paul Welcome to the forum. No official dress code, although most seem to go for smart casual with some choosing shirt & tie. So you will be fine with whatever you choose. nice to hear of new members coming along, also hopefully Dean Downing will be good to meet & maybe inspire youngsters such as Sam. Two years ago we had Tony Gibb and he was very good.
Re: Club dinner « Result #42 on Oct 7, 2009, 1:12pm »
We new members (Emma, Sam, Paul) are going. Sam's brother, Marcus, too although he prefers diving to cycling - just hope there are no goldfish bowls at the dinner .... What is the dress code for the dinner, please? Smart casual, suits, black tie?

So who's riding? Should suit the youngsters, as they weigh next to nothing. Also the club run is going to meet up there and the forecast is better for tomororrow!

Who was taking the photos in Ufford? If anyone knows i wondered if they got one of Simon Pitchford or Ian Waddilove so i could send to the E.T. with the results. Anyway weather was first class, shame that not many rode. How was your ride George? You were sat up when i saw you, was all ok? Hopefully a few also enjoyed the tearide.
